Since young, I started to grow interest in design through a lot of interesting encounters.
I remember when I was 12 years old, I first exposed myself to internet. At that time, there is only dial-up which limits my access to around 24hours a month. Hence, every minute I spent on the internet is a precious moment. I didn't really think much about how things look on the web back then, all I wanted was to surf the web and get the information I need as fast as possible. That was the research part for some of my school work. I also played an online game called Neopets at that time. It was a great game and I like it alot. I started to slowly figure out my passion on design when I was playing the game. Neopets allows you to decorate your shops using html codes and that makes different shops have different look. That's when I started to grow interest on learning basic html codes for the purpose of decorating the Neopets shop. It was fun. Coding wasn't really what I like; designing is.
Slowly, I started to pay more attention to every details in a design. For school projects, we have to create powerpoint slides to present our research. Everyone else in the class uses the default powerpoint template. I took a step further to make it look better and adding buttons to go back and forth the slides. I amazed everyone in that presentation.
To keep it short, I went into a design course in polytechnic once I graduate my Secondary School. I knew that that is the path I want to take. The life in polytechnic is an exciting one for me. I have more time to do things that I like and soon enough my skill-set pick off and I started freelancing. Things go really well and I graduated with a diploma with merit.
As usual, all the guys here will have to serve a 2 years mandatory army service. I did mine. Instead of going to the front-line, I was lucky to be sent to a design company to work on National Day Parade Website. I was in charge of the design aspect for 2 years. Life is good, more so because I am doing the things I like.
Currently, I am still finding ways to improve on my skill-set and I constantly look forward to create design trends that people will wish to follow in the future.
I hope that explains who I am and what I do. ;)
